NEM Energy has signed an agreement with @Metrostav to supply two state-of-the-art Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) for ČEZ Group’s new combined-cycle power plant in Mělník, Czech Republic. In addition to producing electricity, the plant will also produce district heating. The NEM HRSGs will incorporate district-heating modules that ensure a dependable heat supply to the district heating network of the cities Mělník and Prague.
By replacing the site’s coal-fired units with high-efficiency, natural-gas-fueled technology, the project marks a decisive step toward a cleaner energy mix. It underscores NEM Energy’s ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge HRSG solutions for some of the world’s most efficient power plants and to accelerating the broader energy transition.
The HRSGs will be designed as vertical drum type steam generators with a highly modular design. The modular units will be delivered in a highly pre-fabricated state, allowing the client to install the units in a very short time frame with less welding requirements on site versus a conventional horizontal HRSG. The reduced construction time saves the client on time and money, and also reduces site construction risks. Since the launch of this concept, NEM Energy has successfully supplied dozens of these modular installations worldwide
We look forward to a smooth execution and to building a strong, long-term partnership with Metrostav and ČEZ Group—working together to make this project a resounding success for all stakeholders.
